Sigma guitars are now produced under the guidance of AMI, an acoustic and classical guitar distributer. This great line of guitars was originally designed and made for a major guitar company as an entry level guitar. They developed a name for themselves but as production costs increased the line was dropped. But “Sigma Guitars Est. 1970”, has returned, and AMI are proud to be part of this legend.
Every Sawchyn instrument is completely handmade with Peter carrying out all the processes of construction from selecting the material to the final polish and setup. Each instrument is truly hand made.
All Sawchyn instruments have a harmony in exterior design and a functional and efficient interior construction that results in an instrument with outstanding playability and sound. Instrument making is an exacting process that involves a clear understanding of structure and acoustics in relation to the physical properties of wood. Peter’s personal attention ensures a high degree of detail which is present in every instrument.
Recording King makes professional grade acoustic guitars, banjos, resonators and lap steel guitars,. These guitars are designed in Hayward, California USA, manufactured overseas and sold world wide. Recording King started as a house brand for Montgomery Ward in the 1930s. Legendary guitarist John Fahey played a 1939 model. The original guitar was similar to the Gibson Advanced Jumbo, discontinued in 1939. The Recording King brand was revived in 2007, by Johnson Guitars Current Recording King products using vintage designs and replicas of pre-World War II parts.
