The Eastman E6 OM is a warm and balanced sounding guitar with straightforward classic appointments. The OM or orchestra sized body is a smaller shape dating to the early 1930s with a curvy waist and more compact lower bout. This results in a very comfortable playing experience particularly in a seated position. The smaller body also requires less energy to get the top moving and responds really well to a lighter touch. Fingerstyle playing and light to medium strumming really bring out the voice of this instrument.
Featuring a classic wood pairing of Sitka spruce and Mahogany, the Eastman E6 OM has a warm yet balance voice. The Sitka spruce top provides a clear note fundamental and great dynamics and the pushed midrange of the mahogany sides and back adds girth, warmth and some natural compression. It has great volume for a smaller bodied guitar and the even “C” neck profile feels substantial but not too large. As a practical detail, the neck is built with a scarf-joint headstock, which provides significantly improved resistance to breakage compared to one-piece designs.
Visual appointments such as the open gear tuners, tortoise body binding and pearl dot inlay subtly frame the wood sets for a simple classy aesthetic. The Eastman E6 OM is a great sounding workhorse small bodied guitar!
The Eastman E6 OM is sold with the original Eastman Hard Shell Case.
